This fall wedding at Forest Park Golf Club was the definition of timeless and classic. With a neutral color palette, elegant florals, and timeless details, every element felt refined and intentional. The natural backdrop of Forest Park in autumn added just the right amount of seasonal character without overpowering the day’s clean, traditional style.

After the ceremony, we captured portraits near The Muny. The iconic architecture and tree-lined paths created a simple, striking setting that complemented the couple’s classic look. Crisp air, golden light, and understated details made this celebration both polished and unforgettable.

How did you meet?

Henry and I met in August 2018 at Saint Louis University. We were raised in the same neighborhood so even though we didn’t know each other, we knew a lot of people in common, and it felt like we had known each other our whole lives!

About a month later, we went on our first date to a sushi restaurant near campus and talked for five hours! After another month of hanging out, we started “officially” dating. Our first year of dating took place either at SLU or at home during breaks. Luckily, our families houses were just two blocks away so it was easy to spend time together even when we were at home. However, our best memories from thsi time were definietly being at college together and doing things like going out with friends, attending my sorority events, going to our favorite midtown restaurants, and being on campus. In 2020, we had to go home because of the pandemic and that was the end of Henry’s time in college. While it was a tough time in the world, we always had each other and would spend time together when we couldn’t go anywhere. I went back to college that fall and Henry started his first job. He would come to my apartment after work some days and on weekends. It was a difficult time in our lives – the job was very stressful, and we were both dealing with losing people close to us, and SLU had very strict COVID policies.

However, we still had a lot of fun. We would watch TV in my apartment, cook dinners, and make each other laugh. I graduated that May and moved home. That fall, we both started our current jobs. We now had to balance our relationship with work, friends, and living apart at our parents’ houses. We also started to talk more about the future and when we wanted to move out, get engaged, etc. However, despite these life changes, we still made time for each other. We found times to hang out when we could be alone, we attended weddings, took trips, and had experiences that brought us even closer. Now, we are in a new phase of living together, sharing a house, and planning for our wedding/future. I can’t wait to see where it takes us 🙂

What’s your favorite things to do as a couple?

Honestly, our favorite thing to do together is spend a lazy weekend morning in bed just talking and laughing for hours. This is something we could do every day and never get tired of! We also like to watch TV (what couple doesn’t?), cook dinners, and go for walks. In other words, just everyday life. That said, we also love getting dressed up and going out (we’ve now traded sorority formals for wedding receptions!) and going out to dinner, especially to our favorite Italian restaurants.

What is your favorite thing about each other?

My favorite thing about Henry is that no matter what, he always makes me laugh. A lot of times, he doesn’t even mean to, he just is himself and I get a kick out of it. It’s really hard to pick just one thing though…. My favorite thing about Caroline is that she always makes me feel loved. Whether it’s a hug on a long day, bringing me a little snack/treat, or scratching my head while we watch tv, she always does little things that make me smile.
